Mastery of Knowledge and Skills
Claim 2 Evidence
Westchester students in the Early Intervention Program (EIP) demonstrate growth and understanding of the curriculum.
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) at Westchester Elementary is designed to serve students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level work in reading and/or math. The purpose of the EIP is to provide additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level to obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time. The NWEA Measurement of Academic Performance and the STAR Reading Assessment both demonstrate substantial growth in students served in the EIP program. Our struggling students are excelling academically because they have the opportunity to learn deeper about topics that are authentic and meaningful to them.
