as presenters and writers.
Westchester Wolves are continually challenged to be leaders of their own learning. This is evident by their leadership roles in student led conferences (SLC), community circle, and audio and visual presentations. Students demonstrate their interdisciplinary thought processes through multimedia avenues. Through collaboration and competition, exposure to exemplars, and repeated practice, they have evolved from having a fixed mindset to a growth mindset in both their presenting and writing skills. Over the years, student work has shown progress that has yielded great results. Each child's depth of knowledge in a variety of subject matters has strengthened because of their ability to communicate effectively. Westchester believes that students who are able to effectively express their learning demonstrate mastery of knowledge and have fully learned the content. Children have become risk takers through collaboration, craftsmanship, and perseverance. They are powerful contributors to our school’s culture and climate. Their presenting abilities through SLC, expedition products, and community circle have surpassed the Common Core Standards and are empowering them with skills necessary for the 21st Century.
Westchester students are masters of their own success.
